Abend Gallery Presents 'Wild at Art: A Four-person Animal-inspired Exhibition'

Abend Gallery invites the art-loving public to experience the captivating exploration of the animal kingdom in its newest exhibition, 'Wild at Art: A Four-person Animal-inspired Exhibition'. This unique showcase, featuring artists Morgan Cameron, Marina Dieul, Claudia Griesbach-Martucci, and Lucia Heffernan, will open with a reception on June 2 from 4 - 6 PM and run through June 27 at 1261 Delaware St., Denver, CO 80204.

The exhibition offers visitors a captivating exploration of the profound connections between humans and the Animal kingdom. These talented artists each bring their unique perspectives to create compelling artworks, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, deep respect for animal life, and a desire to evoke a sense of connection and curiosity among viewers.

About the Artists

Claudia Griesbach-Martucci's artwork aims to celebrate the magical roles that animals play in our world. Her piece, Lust for Life, inspired by a trip to Bordeaux's countryside and folklore, combines morbid extravagance with a cheeky twist.

Morgan Cameron introduces a new direction in her art through her dark-fantasy styled piece Moths Delight. A white rabbit adorned with white moths, this piece hints at something curious and even supernatural happening in their relationship, signaling a shift towards a darker style of art.

Marina Dieul showcases her meticulous trompe-l'oeil style, offering us works like "Chaton 38," a piece that represents an endless source of inspiration for the artist: cats. "Some of us are deeply bewitched by cats, and such a young kitten represents a promise of lifelong wonders and tenderness." - Marina Dieul

Lucia Heffernan's piece "Dancing Chicks" captures the humor and relatability of animal behavior through whimsical portrayals of chicks performing contemporary dance moves. Inspired by her own love for dancing, Heffernan infuses the artwork with nostalgia and joy, reminiscing about the excitement of a night out dancing with friends. By highlighting the shared characteristics between humans and animals, she aims to create narratives that resonate with viewers.

Each artist in the exhibition has developed a strong bond with animals, and their passion is palpable in their work. Their paintings aim to inspire viewers to appreciate the complex personalities of animals and their important place in our world.

Abend Gallery, located in Denver's Golden Triangle Museum District, is proud to host "Wild at Art: A Four-person Animal-inspired Exhibition." “Genesis: Robin Cole Solo Exhibition” at Gallery 1261

Artist Robin Cole Debuts "Genesis" at Gallery 1261A Journey Between Science and Spirit March 16 30, 2024 Gallery 1261 is proud to present "Genesis," a solo exhibition by Denver-based artist Robin Cole. Drawing from the deep reservoirs of personal transformation and the vastness of the natural world, Cole's work bridges the realms of science and spirit, presenting a harmonious confluence of the internal and external wilderness.  Artist Statement:My work explores an inner wilderness by way of an outer one. These images come as often from within as without, informed as significantly by emotional texture and imagination as observation. I am interested in elemental experiences that possess this added, dream-like resonance, like a vision of tiny embryonic mysteries, or the ethereal glow of a nameless light in a white landscape. These are the times when the veil feels thin, when an omnipresent but unnoticed magic moves beneath the surface of the ordinary. In my work, I aim to weave this need for understanding into a broader and equally honest experience of imagination. Robin ColeAbout Robin Cole:Nature and those that inhabit itour human selves includedpossess a magic for me, one which I attempt to elicit by working within the bounds of realism as one might work within a poetic form, utilizing the formal constraints to evoke something beyond the boundary of those very limitations. I strive to carve out a compelling space in which those peripheral presences can stand forth, a space of co-existence with both the seen and the unseen. This idea of continuity and reciprocity between landscape and psyche is reflected in many of our myths, legends, and stories both ancient and modern. I am drawn to these primal sources and archetypes of our human storiesstories which, at a fundamental level, are nearly always developed in direct response to our wild, earthly home as a way of explaining, understanding, and relating to its elemental forces. -Robin Cole Genesis: Robin Cole Solo ExhibitionMarch 16 March 30, 2024March 16, 5 - 8 PM.
