It’s not easy to quickly summarize the professional life of Jeff’s guest, Emily Duncan. She double majored at the University of Iowa where she completed studies in the acclaimed Undergraduate Creative Writing Program while also earning a bachelor’s degree in music. Next came Juilliard and a Master of Music degree. Her musical performances since then are extensive and varied, including recent gigs at Lincoln Center and the Met Gala. Based in New York City, Emily often can be found performing contemporary works of living composers. She also has credits as a sound designer, engineer, music supervisor, consultant, theatrical artist, off-Broadway musical producer, podcast producer, web app creator, and more. Oh, and she taught Jeff’s daughter how to play flute. Maybe the best way to summarize Emily is to say that she lives a highly creative life.
