Here at the Colorado Springs Senior Center, our want and goal is to combat social isolation for seniors within the community. When COVID hit, our creativity, capacity and caliber were challenged and created an opportunity for growth. We have tapped our resources and have stretched our boundaries to allow for the new channels needed to continue to connect and support our older adult community. Staying physically distanced is important and so is remaining socially engaged and mentally strong. We CAN do this together and we ARE going to be okay. While we all adjust to the new normal, it is imperative to remain flexible; we are all going to have to give each other a little more grace as each of us is coping the best we know how. We are here and we would love to engage with you! We are offering Zoom classes every week. New to Zoom? Would you like some assistance getting started? We can help you with that! Just give us a call and we can walk you through it. Once you are comfortable, give a Zoom class a try; we offer exercise, history, and health classes online every month. Are you in need of some resources or services? Just give us a call and we will do our best to get you connected to the right people. Trump's Changes to Medicaid

Many Colorado Seniors and Disabled Adults are concerned about the recent funding discussions about Federal, not State, Medicaid changes, and how they might impact Long-term Care Medicaid benefits here in Colorado. There are 40+ different Medicaid programs in the State of Colorado alone, which are funded differently. Some of these Medicaid programs will be impacted by Trumps changes.At this time, it is important to know that the Medicaid changes imposed do not affect Long-term Care Medicaid in Colorado. If you are currently receiving Long-term Care Medicaid benefits or considering applying, you can rest assured that your eligibility, services, and coverage remain intact. Long-term Care Medicaid has already been funded for 2025, therefore nothing will change this year. In addition, there have not been any major changes to Colorado Long-term Care Medicaid in 20 years, and we dont foresee any changes now. The Colorado Springs Senior Center is a constant hub of activity! We offer classes in the arts, general education, computers, fitness, health, dance and personal business. These classes are for all adults, with a priority to those 55 years of age or older. We print individual schedules of each class area. . Along with classes, you will also find numerous day trips that are reasonably priced and include local, Front Range and mountain destinations. The special events presented monthly cover a wide range of entertainment, from music and dancing to humor and history! Groups and clubs of all types meet at the Senior Center and they are another way to get involved and find new friends. There are many ongoing activities that require no registration. Among them are lunch served Monday-Friday, live band music with dancing, coffee and conversation in the lobby. Come by and be amazed!
