"Elysian Reflections" invites visitors to explore Manukyans exploration of the human condition through a masterful fusion of classical techniques and contemporary insights. Her paintings feature graceful figures adorned with elements from natureflowers, birds, and intricate textilessymbolizing the cyclical nature of growth and introspection. Through this symbolism, Manukyan presents a meditative journey into serene spaces where fragility and grace coexist, urging the viewer to consider the quiet beauty of resilience.
In her artist statement, Manukyan shares, I explore the depths of human consciousness and our relationship with nature, spirit, and inner beauty. My work reflects an ethereal yet intense dialogue between solitude and transcendence, weaving contemporary themes through techniques reminiscent of the Old Masters. With every brushstroke, she brings forth a narrative that resonates with timeless elegance, as her figures stand as emblems of wisdom and grace within a world both untamed and refined.
Alexandra Manukyan was born and raised in Armenia, where she studied fine arts before moving to Los Angeles in 1990. Initially pursuing a career in fashion design, she transitioned to fine art, merging her experiences in graphic design and illustration to develop her unique style. Her work has been widely exhibited and is celebrated for its technical precision and emotional depth. "Elysian Reflections" marks her latest solo exhibition, further solidifying her place within contemporary representational art.
