Mental aerobics is a program designed to enhance the self-esteem and cognitive functioning of older adults where the emphasis is on having fun, the cooperative sharing of ideas, and the development of solutions to challenging problems. Our facilitator brings to the group puzzles, critical thinking worksheets, and both math and word problems to be solved. We even solve the daily Wordle and Boggle puzzles together. Older person who may no longer believe they can produce creative answers and solve such problems are encouraged to believe in themselves by their own successful performance. This class meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 10:30-11:30 am in classroom 2 at the Sam Johnson Recreation Center.
