What artifacts are missing? Why and how are they significant? What do infamous thefts like the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist or the theft of the Mona Lisa tell us? Scandals and Vandals:  Famous art becomes a target for personal and political propaganda.  Michelangelos Vatican Pieta and Florentine David survived brutal attacks in situ.  Rembrandts Nightwatch has endured numerous assaults.  Political activists have targeted van Gogh, Leonardo, Constable.  Whats the story?Forgeries and Fakes: How do forgers fool experts and what scientific methods can be used to detect them?  Infamous forgers Han Van Meegeren, Wolfgang Beltracchi, and Eric Hebborn successfully fooled viewers for years highlighting the importance of provenance in art collecting.

Each session explores a new corner of the globe, diving into the unique rhythms, flavors, and traditions that define their home countries. Discover the world through the eyes of those who live it and see how their "home" compares to ours.

Crime and Personality Disorders examines the relationship between criminal behavior and personality pathology through psychological, sociological, and criminological perspectives. The course explores major personality disorders identified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), with particular emphasis on antisocial, narcissistic, borderline, and psychopathic traits as they relate to criminal conduct, violence, manipulation, and recidivism. Students will analyze theories of personality development, risk factors for criminality, forensic assessment methods, and the role of mental health within the criminal justice system.
