The Department of Human Services offers a variety of re-sources to the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer/questioning) community in order to assist them with getting information that they may need in terms of civil rights, health and behavioral health, immigration and much more. The Allegheny County LGBTQ Resource Guide is a valuable compilation of local resources and service providers that are reported to be welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals. One purpose of this group is to educate the public on the need for care planning before a crisis occurs.
