The Department of Human Services offers a variety of re-sources to the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer/questioning) community in order to assist them with getting information that they may need in terms of civil rights, health and behavioral health, immigration and much more. The Allegheny County LGBTQ Resource Guide is a valuable compilation of local resources and service providers that are reported to be welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals. For older adults, the guide includes information on Services and Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Elders (SAGE)the countrys largest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older adultsand the National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aginga technical assistance resource center aimed at improving the quality of services and supports offered LGBTQ+ aging individuals.Additional Resources: https://www.alleghenycounty.us/Services/LGBTQ
The Lee Health Sports Complex is home to Hammond Stadium, five additional playing fields and the year-round Twins Player Development Academy. It is also home to two Twins minor league affiliates, the Low-A Fort Myers Mighty Mussels and the rookie-level Florida Complex League Twins. The complex also features four state-of-the-art softball fields and annually hosts various other games and tournaments, bringing thousands of additional teams and tourists to Lee County each year.The main stadium was renamed Bill Hammond Stadium late in the 1994 spring season in honor of the Deputy County Commissioner who was instrumental in getting the complex built for the Twins. In November 2023, the entire complex was renamed the Lee Health Sports Complex as the Twins and Lee Health teamed up for a long-term partnership to create an extensive, long-lasting and positive impact on Southwest Florida.
