1. What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of heightened focus and concentration where your subconscious mind is more susceptible to suggestions. When youre in a hypnotic state, youre more open to new ideas, suggestions, and possibilities.

2. How does hypnosis work? Hypnosis is a deeply powerful tool that can get you to focus more efficiently, focus on issues that are more intently impacting your life, and find creative solutions. The brain rules over your body and through the process of learning, there are automatic transitions within the brain. These automatons process stimuli and input at a very fast rate, so that we can process information and make quick decisions.
One of the brains most important automatons is the amygdala. This is the seat of emotional memory. Within the amygdala is the hippocampus, which is responsible for forming new memories.
Hippocampus is responsible for the consolidation and storage of recent experiences and is the structure that contains the vast majority of the hippocampus. It integrates the information from all other memory components and makes presentable and dynamic memories. Richard Norris, The Hippocampus: Memory Accomplisher
There is an orgasmic aspect to hypnosis that you will experience every time you go under the influence of hypnosis. This unique state allows you to have a body massager to stroke and massage areas of your body that are currently causing stress.

2. How does hypnosis work for pain relief?

The way it works is that it helps to switch off the part of your brain thats responsible for paying attention to your body, and it helps to switch on the part of your brain thats responsible for paying attention to things that are happening outside of your body.

3. How can hypnosis help with chronic pain?

Hypnosis can help with chronic pain, and the first thing to understand is that hypnosis isnt sleep. Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation and its not about the absence of thought but the presence of a focused, directed thought. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and self-control while youre awake.
Sleep, on the other hand, is a deep state of relaxation. It is a focus on falling asleep and waking up in the prescribed way. This state of deep relaxation is accompanied by low muscle tone in the body and frequent dreaming. The specific pattern of brain activity that accompanies sleep is different from the relaxation pattern accompanying hypnosis. In order to understand hypnosis, first you must understand the state of the brain because the link between the two is what causes hypnosis to work and why its better than sleep.
Attention is the most basic state of being for your brain. It is good at doing two things staying still and focusing your attention. Dreaming is another state of being a quick sleep with lots of interesting dreams. Hypnosis is a deeper level of attention and self-control than sleep.
A fascinating study from 2001 showed that American adults were more likely to believe in the paranormal when subjects were hypnosis than when subjects were awake. Similarly, a study by Sleep Research Institute, a division of Stanford University, showed that hypnotized people performed better on two types of programming tasks. While those who were hypnotized were more likely to do what the hypnotized were told versus the hypnotizer.
Its very common for hypnotherapists to experience the common side effects of sleep because they are using the state of arousal to affect a deeper state of focus and awareness. Hypnosis takes practice to become proficient at and it takes a lot of focus and conscious effort.
Hypnosis is filled with recovered memory techniques used under the guise of being healing or curing.

4. How can you learn self-hypnosis?

There are a lot of techniques available to learn self-hypnosis. One of the most popular is the Milton Method. It involves listening to a recording that guides you through a self-hypnosis session.
Soaking in warm or cold water for a few minutes can calm your mind. Tapping gently on your wrist for a few moments helps you process how your mind works and relaxes your muscles. Light light can also help your visualisation process. If you dont like any of these methods, you can use your imagination. Any audio you find can be used as a Hypnotherapist would use. Whatever method you choose, you will have fun with it. Ill let you decide how much fun youd have with hypnosis.

How to Prevent and Treat Joint Pain

How to Prevent & Treat Joint Pain Most of us never think about our joints until they start to hurt. As we age, we lose strength and flexibility in our tendons and ligaments. As our joints get tighter, it may become harder to move. The cartilage between our bones of the joints also starts to break down; this leads to inflammation and osteoarthritis, the most common joint disorder. Taking care of your joints can help reduce joint pain and stiffness. Five Tips to Keep Your Joints Healthy  1.      Stay at a healthy weight. Carrying extra body weight puts strain on thejoints, especially the knees. On the flip side, being underweight can lead to a lackof muscle, which helps keep your joints strong and stable. Aim for a healthy weightbased on your height and body type. 2.      Exercise every day and make sure to warm up before and cool down after. You may think it's better to limit exercise if your joints are hurting, but regularmovement and exercise is one of the best ways to prevent and help joint pain.Exercise strengthens the muscles around joints, helping to take pressure off them.If you have joint pain, stick to low-impact activities like biking, swimming, and walking. The more you move, the more likely youll keep moving without painand stiffness as you age. It's also important to stretch before and after you exercise to loweryour risk of straining joints and muscles. Just five minutes of stretching beforeexercise to warm up your joints and five minutes after to cool down will helpprevent workout injuries. 3.      Add anti-inflammatory foods to your diet. A Mediterranean diet richin fruit, vegetables, whole grains, beans, and healthy fats reduces joint pain. Addthese other anti-inflammatory foods to your grocery list:         Tomatoes         Olive oil         Green leafy vegetables, like spinach, kale, and collards         Nuts like almonds and walnuts         Fatty fish, like salmon, mackerel, tuna, and sardines         Fruits, like strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and oranges 4.      Make sure you're drinking enough water. Your bodys cartilage thatcushions your joints is made up of 80% water. When you get dehydrated, yourbody starts pulling water from other sources, including cartilage. This leads to jointpain and a greater risk of injury. 5.      If you smoke, it's time to quit! Smoking is a risk factor for everything, fromheart and lung problems to cancer and joint pain. Smoking increases inflammationthroughout the body. This makes it harder for your body to heal if you injure yourjoints. To quit smoking, seek support and a treatment plan from your Primary CareProvider. Testamentary Trusts

What do you know about testamentary trusts?A trust protects your assets and determines where those assets will go once you are gone. Three common types of trusts are a revocable trust, an irrevocable trust, and a testamentary trust. Most trusts, like revocable and irrevocable trusts, are made and actively used while the trustor (or the creator of the trust) is still alive. In contrast, a testamentary trust only comes into being after the trustors passing. A testamentary trust is created based on explicit instructions written into a will. In it, a trustee, (or the person who manages the assets on behalf of beneficiaries of the trust) is appointed and given instructions on how to distribute the estate. The trustee can decline the position. If a trustee does decline the position, a court can appoint someone to act as trustee. It is best to select a trustee that is willing and able to administer your estate after you are gone in order to limit the courts involvement. Advantages of testamentary trusts:There are many advantages to creating a testamentary trust. The following are reasons that you may want to consider setting up a testamentary trust.1. A testamentary trust can establish that assets cannot be paid to beneficiaries until certain conditions are met. This is especially helpful for parents who wish to condition the receipt of funds for children. For example, you may condition the disbursement of assets on a child reaching a certain age, graduating from college, or marriage. 2. A will can have more than one testamentary trust, meaning that there is no limit to the number of beneficiaries one can have. This ensures that assets will get distributed according to your desires, depending on the conditions you set. 3. Creating a testamentary trust is inexpensive. A testamentary trust does not come with the same costs as establishing a living trust. This can be beneficial if you cannot afford to establish a trust because the cost of creating a testamentary trust comes out of the estate. 4. There are tax benefits in using a testamentary trust as opposed to another type of trust. Testamentary trusts only require payment of income taxes on the trust as a whole. This means that the beneficiaries are not required to pay taxes on their distributions from the trust.Disadvantages of testamentary trusts:There is one major downside to establishing a testamentary trust: a testamentary trust must go through probate. Probate is the court procedure by which assets are distributed after an individual has passed away. Probate can be extremely expensive and lengthy. Assets cannot be distributed until probate is complete and assets are then transferred into the trust.Knowing what type of trust is right for you can seem confusing and difficult. Funding a Revocable Living Trust

Funding your revocable trust is just as important as creating it. However, many people dont know what funding a trust means. Funding a trust is accomplished by retitling assets into the trusts name rather than your own. Incorrectly funding a trust can become very problematic. Consequences of not re-titling assets:There are a variety of reasons why we require and help our clients retitle their assets into the trusts name. Here are three reasons that you should retitle your assets: 1. Your assets may be subject to probate if they are not retitled. Probate is the legal process by which assets are distributed after death. It is best to avoid probate because it can be time consuming and expensive. And if your assets are owned by your trust and not you, they do not need to go through this process in order to be dispersed. 2. It makes the administration much simpler. When assets are already owned by the trust by retitling, there is less room for confusion about asset ownership and distribution. 3. Retitling can help protect your assets from lawsuits, creditors, and people you may wish to keep away from your assets. The whole point of creating a trust is to make a plan for how your belongings will be handled. But, if they are not correctly titled in the name of the trust, the plan you so carefully created flies straight out the window. What assets need to be retitled:A revocable living trust protects your assets and determines who your assets will go to once disbursements are made. To begin creating a revocable living trust, think about what assets you have and who you want to leave them to. As weve said, retitling your is a crucial step in creating a trust because it effectively transfers ownership of the asset to the trust. Titling, as a legal term, identifies who owns an asset. When it comes time to disburse the trusts assets the trust has the power to give out the assets it owns. Certain assets must be retitled in order to pass out of your possession and into your trust. These include:Bank accountsRetirement accountsLife insuranceHealth insuranceInvestment accountsReal estate Vehicles We would be happy to help you determine if your assets need to be retitled, because chances are, they do.How to retitle assets:Funding a revocable living trust involves transferring assets from the trustor, or the creator of the trusts individual name to the name of the trust. This means literally changing the names on your assets from your name into the name of the trust. Retitling assets is a straightforward process. However, it does differ from asset to asset. For real estate, retitling involves a deed. For example, if you own a home, the home is currently deeded in your name, even if there is a valid mortgage. In order to change the title of your house, deed it from yourself and into the trust. This can be achieved through a Warranty Deed or a Quitclaim Deed. The deed must then be signed, notarized, and recorded in the county where you live. To retitle a bank/ retirement/ investment/ insurance account, simply contact the bank or institution that holds the asset and request a change in ownership from your name to the trusts name. You can also request that the Trust be designated as the accounts pay on death beneficiary if you would like to retain ownership of said account while you are still living. We should note that the institution that manages your asset may require documentation stating that you are trustee of the trust. Correctly funding your revocable living trust by retitling your assets is the only way to ensure that you are correctly passing ownership and into the ownership of your trust.
