Southern Cross Home Care is a locally owned care agency serving Mobile and Baldwin counties.  Our caregivers provide in-home care and daily living assistance for individuals going through illness, aging, recovery and rehabilitation.  Were here to help take some of the stress and worry off of your shoulders, and our focus is on the safety and happiness of your loved one in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.  We provide:Companionship  our caregivers spend a lot of time with your loved one, and they enjoy engaging in activities or hobbies together and building a trusting relationshipDaily living assistance  this includes things like help with meal preparation, reminders to take medication, support during mobility exercises, making sure our clients drink water and generally helping them to maintain good health and habitsPersonal hygiene  whether your loved one just needs support getting to and from the restroom, or they need full assistance in toilet use/bathing/showering, were ready to helpLight housekeeping  we do not offer a full housekeeping service at this time, but our caregivers are happy to wash bed linens, vacuum/sweep, and take care of other light chores that will ensure the safety and cleanliness of your loved ones living areaTransportation  our caregivers can also assist your loved one with trips to the grocery store, running errands or going to doctors appointments All of our caregivers are trained and experienced in working with clients who suffer from Alzheimers and dementia, and we ensure that they are also trained in the use of a Hoyer Lift and Gait Belt for those who need complete physical assistance moving between beds, wheelchairs and other seating. In addition, our caregivers have access to thousands of hours of in-depth training on everything from nutrition to infection control.We offer care from 4 hours a day to 24-hour, round-the-clock total care.  Depending on your needs we can be there a few days a week or every day, and if your loved ones needs change, were ready to adapt to you.  Our rates vary depending on the level of care required for your loved one.  While we do not currently accept Medicare or other regular insurance, we do work with each client and their loved ones to identify available resources such as Veterans Benefits, Long-Term Care and Short-Term Care Insurance and to schedule care that provides the best support for you.  We have also partnered with a group that offers Reverse Care Insurance specifically for in-home care, enabling lower payments and family contributions, and will be happy to discuss your options with you.Additionally, in order to ensure the best possible care for your loved one, we offer free training for the families and friends of those with Alzheimers and dementia.  This can help you to better understand what they are experiencing (physically, mentally and emotionally), as well as tips and guidance on how to support them while also taking care of your own health.
