From there, our Fitness Directors spring into actionprepping studios, wiping down equipment, checking towels, and setting the tone with upbeat music and a thoughtfully planned class lineup.Mornings often include friendly check-ins with residents in the dining room, inspiring them to join a class or even try something new. Its not just about exerciseits about building relationships and community.Energizing the MorningAs the community wakes up, so does the movement. The morning fitness schedule varies by location but often includes a dynamic mix such as: Sunrise Stretch and Walk & Talk Clubs, ideal for boosting mood and circulation. Chair Yoga, Advanced Balance, and Tai Chi/Qigong, blending mindful movement with physical wellness. Strength Training, Resistance Work, and Core Conditioning, focused on supporting mobility, independence, and confidence in everyday life. Water Aerobics and Water Walking, combining gentle resistance with fun in the pool.One highlight many residents look forward to? Fitness Directors regularly visit these neighborhoods, delivering adapted programs like gentle stretching, therapy ball routines, SmartFIT games, or even group walks. Some days, youll find laughter filling the room during a SmartFIT spelling bee or while drumming to familiar tunes.Whether seated or standing, these classes are thoughtfully designed to mimic daily activities, support cognitive function, and foster a sense of purpose and joy.Midday Moments & Personal TouchesBetween classes, Fitness Directors often assist individual residentshelping them walk using parallel bars, setting up personalized workouts, or guiding them through prescribed physical therapy routines. They also tackle administrative tasks like tracking participation, creating monthly class calendars, and coordinating with local health professionals for upcoming wellness talks. Lunch is often a quick bite, followed by more prep and another round of invigorating activities.Afternoon MomentumAfternoons are just as full and exciting. Depending on the day, residents might dive into: Bingocize, a mashup of bingo and exercise where participants do a move when its called on their card. Pedal the World, where scenic tours and educational videos play while residents cycle with foot pedals. Brain-Fit using the SmartFIT board, combining cognitive and physical challenges. Balance and Strength Classes, targeting key joints and muscle groups for fall prevention and stability.
