Our memory care communities provide the safe, comfortable, and engaging spaces needed to truly enjoy lifes many moments of joy.We accomplish this through specially designed programming that our incredible team members lead each day. These activities include playing games, listening to residents favorite music, doing crafts, and other offerings that help individuals living with memory care needs. We offer a full day of purposeful and meaningful engagement opportunities to ensure personal connections are celebrated.Through engagement, the Im Still Here approach has been shown to reduce the common symptoms associated with dementia such as anxiety, agitation, aggression and apathy the 4 As while significantly improving quality of life.The designation as an Im Still Here Center of Excellence is only awarded to a few organizations each year. To achieve this certification, each organization must make a commitment to participate in a rigorous training and implementation program developed by the Hearthstone Institute.As part of this program, all of the staff working in our memory care units, as well as many others throughout our community, took part in a six-month on-site program, which included extensive training in Alzheimers disease and related dementias, communication techniques, and life enrichment. This training has created a team of true Dementia Specialists here at Dial, as well as a Dementia Friendly culture throughout our organization.
