Springhill Medical Center is a 270-bed acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission. Since 1975, Springhill has grown and expanded its services in the southwest Alabama market while maintaining more nurses to each patient for a personal approach. The medical center provides full surgical capabilities including open-heart and robotic surgery, as well as complete diagnostic capabilities. Today, SMC includes the hospital, a unique and comprehensive heart center, senior residence, sleep medicine center, cancer center, orthopaedic surgery center, wound care and hyperbaric center, and an emergency department staffed by all board-certified emergency medicine physicians.

On an outpatient basis, Springhill Medical Center~s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Treatment Program is the recognized leader in hyperbaric medicine along the Gulf Coast and provides the services you need to help you resume an active, healthy life.Springhill~s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine was the 33rd center in the nation to receive national accreditation for its clinical hyperbaric medicine facility. Springhill Medical Centers hyperbaric medicine program is one of only four facilities nationally to have accreditation by the Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society 7 consecutive times, one of less than 10 hyperbaric facilities in the country to have this honor for 21 years of consecutive accreditation. The program is the benchmark and standard for the Gulf Coast for Hyperbaric Medicine.
