The Department of Human Services offers a variety of re-sources to the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer/questioning) community in order to assist them with getting information that they may need in terms of civil rights, health and behavioral health, immigration and much more. The Allegheny County LGBTQ Resource Guide is a valuable compilation of local resources and service providers that are reported to be welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals.  For older adults, the guide includes information on Services and Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Elders (SAGE)the countrys largest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older adultsand the National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aginga technical assistance resource center aimed at improving the quality of services and supports offered LGBTQ+ aging individuals.
