The Baldwin County Council on Aging, a department of the Baldwin County Commission, serves as a resource for information and assistance for seniors. The Council on Aging is dedicated to preserving the dignity, independence and peace of mind for the senior citizens of Baldwin County. We provide support in navigating the issues that seniors face. Here are some of the services we offer: Personalized case management you are not just a number, receive one on one personalized review of your needs or concerns Insurance counseling we offer a non-biased look at your circumstances to see what plans offer you the best coverage. We are here to answer any questions you may have. Benefit Screening we review your personal information and will suggest programs that you may qualify for. Durable Medical Equipment if youre in need of medical equipment, call us, we may have what youre looking for. Walkers, canes, etc. Legal Assistance Durable Power or Attorney/Living Will to those 60 or older, provided FREE of charge. Prescription Assistance Provides assistance through the pharmaceutical companies or local charitable pharmacy. Senior Emergency Essentials Kits Disaster preparation, information update annually, checkup calls. Tax Prep Site We host a tax preparation site from February April, staffed by AARP volunteers. Consignment Gift Shop Open to the Public. Baldwin County Seniors 60 and older can place their hand-crafted items in the shop on consignment. Classes Ceramics classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. YarnspinnersKnitting and crocheting class meets on Wednesdays at 9AM. Nutrition Sites Six nutrition centers are located throughout the County. Centers provide hot nutritious meals 5 days a week. Some centers offer a homebound meal program; service area is limited.These are just a few of the services we provide.
