Many families feel uncertain or burdened by the notion of planning a tribute. They anticipate that arranging services will be cumbersome, complicated, or overly sad. But setting a unified time and place to gather, share, and pay ones respects is an important and worthwhile step in the healing process. Many also dont know where to start or what they should do. But we know that families prioritize and find meaning in different ways, so we embrace originality and strive to make every remembrance special. For some, the traditions and rites they are accustomed to offer comfort and stability, while others feel inspired to plan something that reflects the unique personality of their loved one.Our staff will help you determine the best way to tell your loved ones story, memorialize their legacy, and bring comfort to family and friends. We will also coordinate with other parties on your behalf, arrange any ancillary services, order items, place obituaries, set up, clean up, and more.We will take care of the details so you can take care of yourself and your family.Below is a brief description of our primary offerings, which can be adapted and combined to serve your familys needs and wishes.VIEWINGIts not unusual for survivors to feel unsettled and a sense of disbelief when someone they know has died, even if the death was expected. Seeing is believing and for many, viewing and sometimes touching a loved one can be an important first step in the healing process. It can help provide closure for those who may not have seen the person before they died and bring comfort and confirmation that their loved one is at rest and peace.Public Viewings provide an opportunity for family and friends to be surrounded by others to view and say good-bye in a supportive setting. Public viewings are most often held the evening before or same day as a service.A Personal Time of Remembrance is offered for those who choose to view privately and spend time with a lost loved one with a limited number of invitees.VISITATIONVisitations are closed casket gatherings whereby a loved one who died is at rest inside a casket or cremation container while family and friends spend time in their presence without the option to view. Visitations can be public or private.SERVICEServices are commemorations that vary greatly in form and tone. They range from solemn to festive, led to participative, religious to secular, and everything in between. Military honors and fraternal ceremonies can also be included.Funeral Services are services whereby a loved ones casketed body is present for the ceremony. Burial, entombment, or cremation will follow.Memorial Services are services whereby a loved ones cremated remains and/or photograph are present for the ceremony so that family and friends can pay their respects and feel connected to the one who died.Graveside or Cryptside Services take place beside a gravesite or mausoleum. These services dont include a viewing, visitation, church, or chapel service and are typically shorter in length and simpler in format. There is limited seating, but others are welcome to gather. CELEBRATION OF LIFEA Celebration of Life is typically personalized and focuses on a loved ones life rather than their death. The use of music, a Life Tribute pictorial, memento displays, and the sharing of memories sprinkled with laughter are common components..RECEPTIONReceptions are stand-alone events or follow other services. Options include a catered buffet, appetizers table, and/or coffee and desserts. Our staff will order the food, set up, clean up, and attend to your family and guests. Our on-site catering book includes menu ideas.COMMITTALCommittal comes from the Book of Common Prayer, We therefore commit this body to the ground, earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, whereby the decedent's remains or cremated remains are entrusted to a dedicated and final resting place. Committal Services typically take place in a cemetery, church yard, or by sea, and can be public, private, or direct. Viewings and services often take place prior to the committal.Burial & Entombment Committals consist of committing a loved ones body to the earth by in-ground burial or entombed in an above-ground mausoleum.Cremated Remains Committals include burying a loved ones ashes into the earth or placing them into an above-ground niche or other permanent memorial, such as a bench.Public Committals are when family and friends are present as a loved one is laid to rest by burial, entombment, or inurnment.Private Committals are not publicized and only a limited number of invited attendees are present.Direct Committals are not witnessed nor attended by family or friends. FORWARDING OR RECEIVING OF REMAINSIf a loved one dies away from their chosen final resting place, we will coordinate with the receiving or forwarding funeral home, cemetery, airline, and/or consulate to execute your wishes.
