Job Description:
The Clinical
Research Pharmacist assists in the preparation, execution, and analysis of
clinical research studies, ensuring all laboratory work adheres to established
protocols and regulatory standards. This role involves working closely with
researchers, clinicians, and other lab staff to support the advancement of
clinical trials and the development of new treatments or medical devices.
Responsibilities:
1)
Lab Support: Assist in setting up, conducting, and maintaining laboratory
functions related to clinical research studies.
2)
Sample Collection and Analysis: Process biological samples (e.g., blood,
urine, tissue) for testing and analysis, ensuring proper storage and
documentation.
3)
Data Management: Maintain accurate and organized records of data.
4)
Quality Control: Ensure that all lab activities meet regulatory
requirements (e.g., GLP, GCP, HIPAA) and quality standards. Participate in
routine lab equipment calibration and maintenance.
5)
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate
protective equipment when handling biological samples, chemicals, or hazardous
materials.
6)
Collaboration: Work closely with principal investigators, clinical
research coordinators, and other team members to ensure research objectives are
met on time.
7)
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain documentation for
regulatory agencies, ethics boards, and project stakeholders.
8)
Equipment Handling: Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment (e.g.
Centrifuges, PCR machines) to support research needs.
9)
Lab Kit Room: Responsible for organizing the lab kit room, destruction of
expire lab kits, ordering of lab kits, and updating inventory weekly.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Clinical
Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or related field. Relevant
certifications (e.g., Clinical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Research
Coordinator) are a plus.
Experience: Prior experience in a
clinical or research laboratory setting is preferred. Experience with clinical
trials or regulatory documentation is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with
laboratory techniques such as PCR, ELISA, microscopy, or other clinical
research assays. Basic proficiency in laboratory software and data management
tools.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow
complex procedures, maintain accurate records, and ensure high standards of lab
safety and data integrity.
Communication: Strong written and verbal
communication skills for preparing reports and interacting with the team.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively
in a collaborative environment while being capable of working independently
when required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift
and move laboratory equipment and supplies. Comfortable working in a laboratory
environment with potential exposure to biological or chemical materials.

Provides case management of clients to include scheduling of appointments and services and providing information and referral of community resources. Processes client information and progress notes in database. Maintains on-going dialogue with agencies and other community resources in coordinating services for clients.
