About Telecommunications Access Program (TAP)
The Kansas Telecommunications Access Program (TAP) is an equipment distribution program. The purpose of the program is to provide specialized telephones and other telecommunications devices to Kansans with disabilities who cant use traditional home telephones. TAP provides these specialized telephones free to those that qualify. Kansas residents with existing telephone service and income below $55,000 per year will qualify if they also have trouble hearing, seeing, speaking, remembering, walking, or holding a telephone. The management offices of ATK are located in Parsons. Each of the five AT Access Sites have experienced staff who can assist Kansans to see and try a device, borrow a device, get a used device or help locate funding for a new or used device, or teach individuals or groups how to maintain and use technology. Other services include: Telecommunications Access Program (KS TAP), Kansas Relay, Kansas AgrAbility, ATK infants/toddlers training videos, iKAN Connect (the Kansas Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program.
